New Support for Mountain Lion Features, Easier Publishing, Plus New "Google +1" Object Lets Visitors Share with Friends
ALAMEDA, Calif., Nov. 1, 2012 - Karelia Software today released Sandvox 2.7, introducing support for several Mountain Lion features, introducing a new "Google +1" sharing feature, and adding an overhauled Host Setup Assitant, to its award-winning website building software for the Mac.
New Mountain Lion features now supported in version 2.7 include Notifications to let users know when publishing completes, and Sharing that lets friends know about newly published content via Twitter, Facebook, email, Messages and Google+. Performance enhancements now make for faster saving of documents when the Versions feature is enabled. Also, the User Interface (UI) of the Sandvox 2.7 application itself is now optimized for Retina displays.
Sandvox 2.7 introduces a new Google +1 feature that lets site visitors share content with their friends directly from a Sandvox-created website. Visitors who want to share simply click on the Google +1 button and login directly. Site creators can configure amongst several options for displaying the quantity of people who shared content with their Google+ friends.
In addition, improvements to publishing performance and a completely revamped Host Setup Assistant now simplify entry of hosting details and allow live testing and diagnostics of the site's URL. Sandvox also now supports custom private SSH keys.
"We continue to add features to Sandvox to support social media, and our lastest addition supports Google +1," explained Dan Wood, president of Karelia Software. "The UI of the Sandvox application itself looks pretty crisp on a Retina display. Of course, we also utilize the latest Mountain Lion capabilities in a way that's useful to website creators."
